History

Baltimore Fencing Center is owned and operated by head coach Bin Lu. Bin was a member of the Chinese National and Olymlpic teams, as well as a Chinese National Team Coach, and head coach of the fencing team at Sichuan Physical University. After coming to the USA Bin coached at clubs in the Baltimore/Washington metro area.

In November 2000 Bin opened Baltimore Fencing Center at the Timonium location - a spacious, well-lit, inviting facility that was immediately the largest fencing club in the Baltimore area. Then, in October 2003 he expanded the facility to provide even more fencing space and additional amenities. In January 2007 Baltimore Fencing expanded into Howard County, opening "BFCC" in Columbia, which incorporated fencers and staff from the old Slayton Fencing Club.

Today, Baltimore Fencing Center employs a full staff of experienced and dedicated coaches, maintains the (two!) premiere fencing facilities in Maryland, routinely fields teams of qualified fencers at USFA National events, and provides daily opportunities for Maryland fencers to train, bout and play!

BFC is the place for fencers and fencing is a sport for life. Come join us!
